I am very much into separates these days. I think they are working better in the winter as it is easier to layer them and combine them with what's already in my wardrobe. Plus since they are short sleeved, they will be great for Spring next year too. I am not a huge fan of long sleeved shirts. I usually wear a cardigan over something short sleeved in the winter unless it's absolutely freezing.
Anyhoo, onto the pictures.
I am also working on anther blouse for my sister in law and one for my mum for Christmas at the moment. Pictures will follow soon.
Nice, very feminine, these little blouses.
ReplyDeleteThese are terribly pretty - I love how there are bows on the fabric of the first blouse. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteI know, that's what gave me the idea in the first place to make tie bows. I wish I had bought more of that fabric it's so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, very impressive, they're gorgeous. I bet you'll wear them a lot as the fabrics are so pretty. What pattern did you use? J x
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful and your fabric choices are lovely. And I love the button back blouses with the little cap sleeves.
ReplyDeleteDid you mention which pattern you used? I love the cut of these. They look terrific!
ReplyDeleteOHHH!!! I LOVE them and I want them!!! wich pattern did you use? the printing of fabrics are JUST perfect, what kind of fabric is it?
ReplyDeleteThey are absolutely gorgeous! I particularly like the first one! I wish I could pull things like this in winter. Unfortunately I need a couple of warm long sleeve ones to keep me warm.
ReplyDeleteI love all four of your blouses (I'm going through a feminine blouse phase at the moment), but these two in particular...are to die for! Gorgeous fabric choices too. Did you use cotton lawn by the way?
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your lovely comments> I very much appreciate them.
ReplyDeleteThe pattern I used as a basis is the JJ pattern from Burdastyle but I adjusted it slightly. I didn't add the ruffles and I redrafted the collar and the bow tie. The button back tops are just a simple fitted bodice block with a little cap sleeve attached.
I used cottons for all of them. The material for the blouses are from Ditto fabrics in Brighton (you can google them, they have and online shop with amazing fabrics..unfortunately the cottons I used are not on the shop, I actually went there and bought them in Brighton) The cottons for the tops come from Chawla (www.efabrics.co.uk) I buy a lot from them and have never been disappointed. The prices are very good too.
