Wide legged trousers finished

Oh how I love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I finished the trousers I was blogging about a few posts back and I am over the moon with them. This pattern (Burda 8488) is just great. It's so easily put together and blew away but fear of making trousers. I wore them to work today and got really nice compliments. I will definitely make up another pair in navy and one pair in black. They are already on my wardrobe staples list. I very much recommend this pattern.

  3. Thanks ladies. Go get the pattern I very much recommend it. They are a piece of cake to make and so flattering. Can't wait to see your versions.

  4. I love these trousers! Fantastic! I'm going to buy this pattern - I do have the "Hot Patterns" sailor pant pattern but I am a bit intimidated by it!

  5. After reading your post I just got this pattern, it looks great! What fabric did you use?

  6. I used a very nice brown dog tooth cashmere wool mix I found in one of my local fabric shops. It's quiet heavy but drapes beautifully and the best thing is, it'll keep me nice and warm in the winter.

  7. Yes, that's my idea too. Warm and cosy for winter. I got a dark green wool blend to have a go at it.

  8. Dark green, now that's an option I haven't thought of yet. I like the idea. Need to have a look if I can find some material in dark green.

  9. Sorry for yet another question :) About to cut my wool and as you used a wool as well, how does it feel on the waist? Sometimes wool can be a bit prickly and pattern does not use lining.

  10. Suzy, there isn't such thing as too many questions. I know what you mean, some materials just can't be near the skin. I made the facing out of the same material as the trousers because it's not itchy at all. But there is about 40%cashmere in there which makes it extra soft and really nice to wear without any lining. I always test fabric on the inside of my arm. The skin is quite thin there and you get a good idea whether the fabric will be irritating or not.
